Silica Souvenirs

      For more than 30 years one of Krastsvetmet ‘s divisions makes souvenirs from translucent and color silica ,with the properties similar to those of rock crystal.

      The designers and makers have found their own approach to create the patterns and shapes of their articles, from plain souvenirs to unique artistic items. A fine and elegant design, purity of proportions, and diamond cutting emphasizes the exclusive purity of the material, lights and darks and its amazing transparency. The impossibility to use press forming and casting techniques results in creating exceptional items. The craftsman has to manually cut the fragments to be joined together at temperature 1700-2000oC. Then the material sets for 1-2 seconds – and this short time is for the craftsman to finish and reach the shape perfection. The items made by our craftsmen were awarded a special diploma for high artistic features at the third International Exhibition “The 2001 Glass World”.
