State metallurgical companies can be profitable

That was the fact discovered by correspondent of Swiss newspaper «NZZ», PhD. Peter Fischer after having visited the Russian leading refinery JSC «Krastsvetmet» in Krasnoyarsk.

The most interesting for the Swiss correspondent was that «Krastsvetmet» is the company 100% owned by the state.

According to the information given to the correspondent in the Regional Administration Council the process of production operations unification is going on in such metallurgical companies as Krastsvetmet all over the world. Companies are getting rid of non-core assets. Here the situation is opposite, company’s management diversifies the business developing such lines as jewelry manufacturing, production of chemical compounds and catalyst gauzes. The most amazing for Peter Fischer was that this process brings profit to the company omnidirectionally. Specialists of the company showed the Swiss not only jewelry manufacturing facility but also refining process and recovery of Gold and Platinum. At present Fischer is publishing articles about his journey to Russia on the web site of his newspaper and the articles about The Gulidov Krasnoyarsk Non-Ferrous Metals Plant occupy quite a big part among them.
