Catalyst Systems

In March 2004 JSC Krastsvetmet launched a new kind of product – knitted platinum alloy catalyst gauzes for nitric acid industry. The technology  was taken up from  the English company Johnson Mattey Plc., the world market leader.

Today we produce three types of knitted gauze:
- NitroLok;
- ProLok;
- HiLok,

specially designed for maximum efficiency of ammonia oxidation process and prussic acid production.

Gauze wire size varies from 60 to 92 microns.

Six types of alloys are used for wire production:

- Pt/Rh - 95/5

- Pt/Rh - 92/8

- Pt/Rh - 90/10

- Pt/Rh/Pd - 90/5/5

- Pt/Rh/Pd - 81/16/3

- Pt/Rh/Pd/Ru - 81/15/3,5/0,5

The alloys composition, wire diameter and knitting type are chosen to meet optimally the customer’s requirements. A catalyst pack installed can be constructed of gauzes knitted of wire of various sizes and alloys. A pack can be made of gauzes of several different knitting types.
