Analytical quality control of products is one of the major tasks of the enterprise development. This complicated task is solved by theCentral Plant Laboratory (CPL).

The CPL was established in March, 1943 for ensuring analytical control on all stages of finished goods production: from inspection test of raw materials up to control of manufacturing methods and examination of finished products. Development and introduction of new products is also within the sphere of the CPL activity. Nowadays the CPL is internationally recognized as one of the biggest and most reputable laboratories in Russia.

The sphere of the CPL activity includes precious metals refining, precious metals compounds and alloys production, precious metals items production, manufacturing of drugs containing precious metals, etc. Those are science-consuming industries, therefore the CPL possesses excellent research and methodological resources and highly professional staff.

Nowadays all the employees ofthe CPL have complete higher or specialized secondary education and operational experience working in the CPL for 10 to 30 years. The engineers of the CPL are highly professional specialists graduated from universities of Krasnoyarsk and Irkutsk. Among the CPL staff there are some brilliant employees whose professionalism has gained general acceptance: one candidate of technical sciences, fifteen P.G. Shulakov Prize winners, eight Krasnoyarsk Region Administration and Mayor Prize winners and two employees who have been bestowed the title of “The Emeritus Chemist of the Russian Federation”.

The CPL structure:

·        Finished Product Analysis Section

Function: spectrometric analysis and spectrographic analysis of finished products, analysis of manufacturing methods of precious metals refining.

·        Chemico-Analytical Section

Function: analysis of mineral and secondary raw materials, powdered refined metals (as a finished product), platinum metals compounds and alloys, industrial products, refining production wastes and research samples.

Methods: chemical, assay and physicochemical methods, mass spectrometry, atomic absorption spectrometry and atomic emission spectrometry with inductively coupled plasma.

·        Raw Materials and Industrial Wastes Spot Test Section

Function: X-ray spectral analysis,X-ray structure analysis of standard alloys and schlich gold samples, preliminary analysis of secondary raw materials;

·        Production and Analytical Control Section

Function: analytical control of technological processes of platinum metals, gold and silver refining;

·        Sample Preparation Section

Function: preparing samples for testing, determination of moisture mass fraction in various materials, registration and storage of samples;

·        Certified Reference Materials Production Section

Function: manufacturing of dispersed and solid-state calibratedcertified reference materials; arrangement ofmetrological certification of variouscertified reference materials.

The CPL is accredited for technical competence by the Gosstandard of Russia. It has received the International Accreditation Certificate from the ILAC member, Analytical Centers Association “Analytica” (№ 00039, June 3rd, 2010) and the Accreditation Certificate of the Federal Agency Technical Regulating and Metrology (№ РОСС RU/0001.510745, May 19th, 2010).

The quality of the CPL’s work is guaranteed by observance of the federal law “On ensuring the unity of measurements”,fulfilling the Quality Management System requirements ISO 9001:2000; OHSAS 18001:2007; ISO 14001:2004. The laboratory has the necessary set of normative documents, certified measurement techniques, modern equipment, reagents and materials.
