Analytical Laboratory

The Krastsvetmet Analytical Laboratory has contributed much to constant improving the quality of refining production. At present it is a complex of analytical equipment of more than 70 various measuring and analytical devices. The majority of the staff has been working in precious metals analysis for 10 years.

The laboratory has at its disposal 35 analytical methods accredited by Gosstandard; it applies the whole spectrum of the methods of analysis – from classical (gravimetry, coulonometry, spectrophotometry, potentiometric titration) to the most advanced instrumental ones based on atomic absorption devices (Perkin Elmer PE-5100PC, PE-3030B, TJA Atom-Scan-25, ICAP Atomic Emission – ICP). The application of two classical and two alternative methods of instrumental analysis makes it possible to avoid errors in precious metals determinations.

To determine the contents of platinum, palladium, rhodium, iridium and ruthenium at low level fire assay method is used. For this purpose the analytical divisions are equipped with Ceramics furnaces (USA). The list of determined impurity elements in the finished products is being constantly extended, i.e. Krastsvetmet implements the existing production facilities to refine precious metals, as well as the analytical possibilities to attest them as per both GOST and ASTM requirements.

The Analytical Laboratory is accredited by the Gosstandard of Russia. It is a participant in the ASTM Proficiency Test Programs. The availability of the set of the methods allowing a flexible combinations of reliable classical approaches and modern instrumental approaches and highly qualified staff are the basis for Krastsvetmet to maintain high and world recognized quality of finished products. The Analytical Laboratory ranks among the biggest and reputable laboratories in Russia.
